Synopsis
Zeynep Güzel reflects on her relationship with documentary cinema as an extension of her own being, where the camera becomes another part of her body. She finds stories intuitively, and finds that those spontaneous moments, even if they seem casual, reveal her unique style. For her, cinema is a space for connection with life and a way of exploring the everyday from the intimacy of art. Although he appreciates the precision of fiction cinema, it is in the non-fictional that he finds the freedom to capture life as he perceives it.

Bio
Zeynep Güzel is a filmmaker based in Germany and a senior consultant to the Documentary Association of Europe. He previously directed Berlinale Talents Doc Station and Turkey's Yeni Film Fund. His work encompasses mentoring, curating and moderating at leading industry platforms such as Berlinale, Cannes Docs, IDFA, DOK Leipzig, Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Docs by the Sea and Norwegian Film School. She is the screenwriter, director and producer of the feature-length documentary Come Rain or Shine (2019) and a member of the European Film Academy.
