“Why do you make films?” Lluis Galter asks himself this question in the process of creating “La Súbstancia”, a documentary shot in China that led him to a deep reflection on his career. Facing professional pressures and a personal crisis during this shoot, Galter rediscovered his passion for cinema, which decisively prompted him to create “Aftersun”, thus resuming a freer and more creative approach to his work. With a sincere and thoughtful gaze, Galter underlines the importance of authenticity and enjoyment in the creative process, finding a balance between professional seriousness and the artistic freedom that defines his work.
His debut, Caracremada (2010), was premiered in the Orizzonti section of the Venice Film Festival and in San Sebastian, and his second feature film, the documentary La substància (2016) was part of the Visions du Réel and Seville festivals. Trained in Audiovisual Communication from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Galter has combined film directing with television production.
